Non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction in the First Year Writing Program

The First Year Writing Program at Temple University is seeking to hire one full-time non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction. The successful candidate will receive a one-year renewable appointment at a minimum salary of $46,725 with a PhD, beginning in August 2018. Applicants must have an outstanding record of teaching academic writing and a desire to work with a diverse student population. Temple is located near the heart of Philadelphia, an affordable East Coast city with a rich history and a vibrant arts and culture scene, and our curriculum makes excellent use of our urban setting. We are especially interested in applicants who are demonstrably committed to diversity and inclusion in higher education.  

The normal course load will be three sections of First Year Writing each semester. An MA in a relevant field is required and a PhD is preferred. Please submit CV, transcript for highest degree, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of reference that focus on teaching experience and ability.
