Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in a science required with a focus on Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum one year of experience in a research lab required. A strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, and/or prior experience in experimental approaches in bacteriophage biology is desired. Prior experience with microbiology and handling bacteriophage samples including sequencing library preparation is preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and train others is desired.
License or certificate:
The Research Specialist will work closely with the PI in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology performing experiments related to the biology and physical characterization of enteric bacteria bacteriophage. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated with excellent time management skills, highly organized, strong attention to detail and the willingness to work in a team environment and laboratory setting.
Special consideration will be given to those applicants with experience in bacteriophage research.
