Department Overview
The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas prepares graduates to address complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster, criminal justice, cultural disparities, employment, health, public administration and public safety. We have seven academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Center for Public Management, UNT Speech and Hearing Center, the Collegiate Recovery Program and a number of professional development and clinical training programs.

Job Description
The College of Health & Public Service- Dean's Office Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Assistant Director of Departmental Marketing to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for all HPS communications, including HPS social media, donor outreach materials, drafting/writing press releases, HPS website overview and working with HPS's University Relations, Communications and Media specialist.
* Preparing print materials (both content and design) such as college and department brochures for student recruitment, annual reports, special events materials, etc.
* Designing marketing collateral such a donor gifts, alumni giveaways, faculty and staff recognition materials and special events items, etc.
* Assists the Dean's Office team in coordinating large and small scale special events.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of experience in communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

* Thorough understanding of market segmentation, principles of marketing, integrated marketing communications principles and branding.
* Ability to think creatively and identify new integrated marketing opportunities.
* Ability to understand and effectively translate market research and other data.
* Extensive knowledge of Associated Press style.
* Ability to visually inspect products in multiple formats and assess and improve.
* Ability to coordinate and supervise the work of others.
* Proficiency in MS Office and requisite publishing, graphic design, and media

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years of experience in writing, publications, social media, event planning and/or public relations.
* Ability to conceptualize, write and edit strategic, accurate and concise content for assigned audiences.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, conduct multiple tasks and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to coordinate large projects with numerous components over extended periods of time.
* Ability to think creatively and identify new marketing and branding opportunities.
* Knowledge of writing styles and guidelines for various media formats and ability to create, coordinate and edit copy for each format (print, digital/social media, video, broadcast, etc.).
* Works effectively within a team.
* Ability to visually inspect products in multiple formats and assess to improve.
* Proficiency in MS Office and requisite publishing, graphic design and media tools.
