Assistant Director HEALTH SECTOR MANAGEMENT THE FUQUA SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Summary

The Assistant Director in the Health Sector Management department reports to the Director, Health Sector Management Program, and functions alongside another Assistant Director. This position is the main point of contact for all Executive MBA (EMBA) HSM related activities and initiatives, and is responsible for providing operational oversight for the EMBA HSM program. This individual works closely with a variety of HSM stakeholders including faculty and numerous groups across Fuqua and beyond. Success of the program is dependent upon the Assistant Director's ability to successfully develop and execute strategies focused on several key areas (defined below).
• Enhanced recruitment of EMBA HSM students
• Marketing and branding the HSM program
• Monitoring/tracking program metrics for continuous process/strategy improvement as EMBA programs are optimized

Responsibilities The main responsibilities, as identified above, are discussed in detail below.

Recruiting / Admissions
• Work closely with admissions to execute a coherent, consistent, and effective recruiting and admissions strategy for Executive MBAs who will pursue the HSM Certificate
• Assist admission counselors in executing open house programs for prospective students
• Participate in recruiting for the program; organize and attend recruiting events, information sessions (both in person and virtual), and yield events
• Meet with prospective students in person, by phone, or by video-conferencing to advise them on the details of the program

Student Engagement
• Oversee EMBA HSM student matriculation, course selection and registration to fulfill program requirements, often providing individual assistance in implementing strategies supportive of individual academic and career goals
• Track enrollment, develop and implement tools to measure student satisfaction with the HSM program annually, and use data for program enhancements/direction.
• Create mechanisms for outreach, learning activities/opportunities, connection between programs, and an array of touch points to and between students.
• Identify opportunities for networking and extracurricular/enrichment activities for EMBA students on site (including with daytime students)and at a distance.

Curricular
• Survey student satisfaction to reflect needs and adjust to a constantly changing health care environment.
• Manage CME course activity for relevant courses
• Work with HSM team members to create and maintain a holistic and comprehensive educational environment for EMBA students

HSM EMBA Program Operations & Administration
• Manage enrollment, matriculation through the HSM program, completion of courses and various other monitoring activities to ensure that students successfully complete individual requirements and programmatic requirements overall.
• Schedule and conduct Information Sessions (Faculty, Alumni Guests) for the incoming EMBA cohorts
• Issue HSM Bootcamp invitation to incoming cohorts with HSM indicator
• Meet with Fuqua EMBA Registrar as needed regarding completion of HSM certificate requirements, and post-graduation to clear all HSM Certificate recipients. Create best practices for distance and global delivery across a variety of time zones, and formats.
• Issue HSM Certificate Ceremony invitation to graduating EMBAs who have completed the certificate requirements
• Compile a variety of program documentation and reports related to program for program certification and reporting, etc.

Marketing & Communications
• Oversee the development and revision of EMBA HSM program materials, including brochures, emails, newsletters
• Help manage the HSM web site to advance communication both within and outside the HSM community
• Help develop and instituteonline communication strategies for current students and alumni

Career Management Support
• Serve as a liaison to the Career Management Center (CMC) and collaborate regarding recruitment opportunities and initiatives for EMBA students.
• Serve as resource to EMBA students with regards to their career search.
• Provide mentoring support as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work generally requires two years experience in personnel, college or university administration, or a related field to acquire skills necessary to provide program management, advising and general administrative support. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Departmental preferences:

Master's degree with minimum of 3 years applicable experience preferred.
Experience in an academic environment is preferred.
Experience in working with seasoned professionals, especially those in the medical field.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Refined written and oral communication skills.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Strong work ethic in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment.
Creativity, adaptability, and diplomatic skills.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) and willingness and ability to master proprietary database and calendaring tools.
