Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director for Communications Planning and Strategic Projects, the Director of the UNC Visitors Center is responsible for ensuring that visitors to campus are provided with exceptional service and the opportunity to learn more about Carolina and its mission. The UNC Visitors Center serves as the front door of the University and the first place many visitors come when they step foot on campus. The director manages a group of full-time staff and undergraduate and graduate student staff who assist in providing tours and services to visitors. This position oversees the development of print and electronic content that promote the University and align with priorities in the Blueprint for Next strategic framework. This position also takes a leadership role in developing and implementing communications strategies to best position the Visitors Center externally, as well as providing communications to the campus community. In addition, the director exercises significant independence and oversight in terms of budget development, staff management and overall communications for the Visitors Center, while being tightly aligned with the communications initiatives of the department and University as a whole. Seasonal Saturday work required.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
