Minimum Education/Experience: Minimum qualifications include MA in English or related degree (e.g., rhetoric/composition or writing studies) from an appropriately accredited institution. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of and experience in teaching courses in first-year writing and writing about the disciplines.

Job Duties: The Department of English (http://www.ecu.edu/english) is seeking to fill one or more positions for Teaching Instructors specializing in composition to begin August 13, 2018. These non-tenure-track positions are for the fall and spring semesters of the 2018-2019 academic year only, with the possibility of subsequent appointments. The full-time teaching load for these positions is typically four courses per semester. Depending upon a candidate's credentials, as well as the needs in the department, the Chair may assign other courses. Service to the university, community, and profession is expected.
