Mechanical Lab Technician

Under the general supervision of the Director of Academic Innovation, Programs, the incumbent provides
technical training and support for project-based Engineering education; including laboratory courses with
a focus on safety procedures and work environment. Assists with project planning, space usage, plans for
laboratories and capabilities. Assists with prototypes and equipment. Serves as consultant on design
and development activities. Advises undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, visiting scholars and
fee-based users in the safe and appropriate operation and maintenance of equipment, hardware, and
facilities. Provides technical consultation for the procurement of equipment and training. Oversees TA's
and student assistants responsible for project-based learning, senior design projects and laboratory

Salary: Hourly $27.22
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
