Head Parking Services Officer

Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
*Experience in providing customer service.
*Experience working as a team member
*Experience interacting courteously with the public
*Experience communicating with others
*Experience explaining rules and/or regulations
*Ability to interpret, review and understand documentation, policy and procedures, and/or written instructions
*Ability to write clear and grammatically correct documentation
*Ability to perform basic math
*Ability to work irregular hours and overtime when necessary
*Skill in operating a computer and related software.
*High school diploma or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
*Experience as a supervisor in related field.
*A minimum of 60 college semester hours
*Ability to problem solve parking enforcement issues (issuing a citation or void, tow, boot, etc.)
*Ability to communicate and tactfully deal with an irate person
*Ability to safely operate a vehicle at all times of day and night as job requires.
*Ability to schedule employees and assign work duties
*Experience held in security related field or security sensitive position
*Knowledge of University parking rules and regulations
*Knowledge of Board of Regents and university rules and regulations
*Experience using a parking management system and parking enforcement hardware, including LPR technology.

Job Description
Responsible for scheduling and supervising full-time Parking Services Officers and student workers. Primary duties include traffic control booths, parking enforcement, customer complaints, and reserve parking assignments. Accountable for all time sheets; responsible for interviewing, performance appraisals, and making decisions regarding hiring, discharge and promotion recommendations. Approve all requests for overtime, vacation, sick leave, paid overtime and voiding tickets.

Additional Information to Applicants
This position will require weekend, overtime and holiday hours when necessary.
