Director of Campus Recreation
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and support to the Campus Recreation department. The Director serves as the leading decision maker and chief operating professional regarding all things involving campus recreation from day to day. The position works to achieve goals across all campus recreation programs and facilities. Primary daily responsibilities are focused on the management of a comprehensive sport facility. Secondary responsibilities include the leadership and guidance of four full time professionals working in all facets of the department including sport programs, outdoors, aquatics, and fitness and wellness. The Director makes decisions regarding strategic direction and planning, fiscal accountability for expenditures in the department, and is charged with maintaining a cohesive team to accomplish the department's mission and goals. In addition, the Director will work closely with representatives from the Healthy Campus Initiative, University Enterprises, University Facilities Management, Athletics, Health and Wellness Department, and the Division of Student Affairs. The position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and is an integral part of the long-term vision and sustainability of Student Affairs.Preferred applicants will have a Master's degree in either sport management, sport administration, higher education and administration, physical education, recreational management, or a closely related field.
