Opportunity at a Glance

AUC is seeking a Vice President of Campus and Clinical Operations to support AUCs strategic initiatives which includes growing AUC to a multi campus, multi-national operation. This person will provide strategic, operational oversight at our existing locations and drive integration with new partners, aligning all functions to deliver a superior medical sciences product. To deliver on this initiative we are looking for a seasoned, capable and inspiring leader who is passionate about AUC's mission, and who can provide leadership and overall operational direction for AUC. This person will report to Executive Dean Heidi Chumley, MD, MBA.


  • Accountable for the overall operation of the campuses. Sets ambitious targets and drives execution to ensure growth and profitability. Works closely with senior academic leaders to ensure academic outcome goals are met.
  • Accountable for the clinical operation, including hospital relationships and management of student flow to optimize educational experience and cost of instruction.
  • Promotes and holds team accountable for a culture that embraces social accountability and student engagement, resulting in quality student outcomes in an environment of continuous quality improvement.
  • Allocates financial and human resources to drive long-term value. Understands and can balance the inherent tension between growth and quality. Helps identify good investments in customer service to drive for long term value and success.
  • Able to present to and converse with Board of Trustees and executive teams with poise and self-confidence.
  • Able to build and communicate a persuasive business case to stakeholders.
  • Communicates clearly, succinctly and with sincerity while maintaining an openness to feedback and alternative points of view. Able to use diplomacy and tact in difficult situations.
  • Is an effective driver of change following established change management methodologies.
  • Able to maneuver through a complex matrixed environment and is sensitive to how teams and others function.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Master's degree required. Terminal degree preferred (i.e. MD, PhD, EdD, JD)
  • General management experience and familiarity with medical education.
  • Culturally proficient with experience operating in multiple countries.
  • Skilled people leader with proven track record of great selection and development of talent.
  • Able to generate and analyze research data and present a synthesis of findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Proven success managing in a complex financial operating environment; strong budgeting skills.
  • Well versed with operating in a highly regulated environment.
  • Effective, senior level communicator.
