Job Summary

The Part-Time Emergency Management Coordinator organizes and supports emergency preparedness activities for the College emergency management program. The position coordinates preparation, mitigation and recovery efforts for all emergencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Coordinates and facilitates training programs; organizes drills to prepare staff for major emergencies and disasters
•Conducts periodic hazard/risk analysis to assist in the update and distribution of the emergency response plan
•Maintains disaster equipment and supplies; ensures disaster resources are easily accessible and available
•Acts as liaison to local fire and police personnel and other involved external parties and constituents
•Provides assistance to Campus Emergency Operations Plans (EOP)
•Assists the Director in updating the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)
•Maintains the district and campus incident management team up to date on required Incident Command System (ICS) training
•Provides support to the Director on planning for comprehensive and long-term improvement plans
•Assists in creating after-action reports after training exercises or emergency incidents
•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredoted isntitution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Ability to complete assignments accurately and on a timely manner
•Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
•Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines
•Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
•Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
•Ability to work independently or in a collaborative environment
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

  • This function/position has been designated as essential. This means that when the College is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the College.
