Advertised Salary:

Minimum $54,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

-Bachelor's Degree Required.
-Master's degree preferred.
-A degree or significant coursework in public health, population health, community health, nonprofit management, education administration or health education is preferred.
-A degree in another field is acceptable if accompanied by appropriate work experience in sponsored programs administration, program evaluation and/or resource development.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-Minimum of three years experience in all aspects of program development/implementation, proposal development and program evaluation.
-Ability to relate well to people of various ages and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
-Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
-Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
-Strong communications skills.
-Experience in the academic health care environment and sponsored programs administration strongly desired.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director, WI AHEC System, the Health Professions Program Specialist collaboratively:
1) Develops programs that align with the organization's mission and support the organization's goals.
2) Develops & implements statewide evaluation plan.
3) Oversees technical support for the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) System program office, regional Centers, and other grants administered through the Program Office at the School of Medicine & Public Health (SMPH).
The incumbent reports to the Director Wisconsin AHEC System Program Office.

The position is based at the AHEC System Program Office on the UW-Madison campus in the Health Sciences Learning Center. Occasional in-state travel is expected to seven regional AHEC centers and other program sites.
