Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Two years of experience in a related field. Hotel experience is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs moderately complex managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the University Hotel.
Manages activities of staff for the University Hotel. Establishes goals and objectives. Develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations. Coordinates and evaluates business function, division, or department activities. Monitors budget expenditures. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Oversees the preparation of management and productivity reports and studies. Works closely with Hotel General Manager to ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to manage business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies. Attention and care is required in the performance of duties to prevent injury to self or others.
