Job Overview

The Managing Director of Inclusion reports to the Executive Vice President of Inclusion and Human Resources (IHR).  The Managing Director is a member of the Executive Vice President’s Leadership Team and is responsible for executing an Inclusion strategy that is aligned with IHR’s larger vision and strategic initiatives.

Job Purpose

To drive inclusive excellence throughout the NCAA by ensuring the member institutions are committed to diversity, inclusion and gender equity among its student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. The Managing Director will provide leadership and strategy to maintain an inclusive culture that promotes equitable participation for student-athletes as well as career opportunities for coaches and administrators from diverse backgrounds. Creating and maintaining an inclusive culture at the national office is also of highest priority.  The role enables programming and education that supports the foundation that is needed for a socially responsive and just culture.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an inclusion strategy that is aligned with IHR’s overall strategy
  • Communicate big picture, execution strategy and desired outcomes within the national office and throughout the NCAA’s membership
  • Work directly with senior leaders and Board of Governors to ensure support of strategic inclusion initiatives
  • Ensure all verbal and written communications and materials are aligned with inclusion strategy
  • Measure impact of strategic inclusion initiatives
  • Manage inclusion staff; Identify individual purpose and how each team member can make an impact
  • Provide diversity and inclusion expertise to staff members, IHR counterparts and other managers/leaders at the national office
  • Provide professional development and training opportunities in the area of inclusion to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage relationships between external consultants/providers and national office
  • Collaborate with other IHR Managing Directors as well as other IHR team members to ensure strategic alignment, shared purpose and operational efficiency

Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree required, Terminal degree strongly preferred
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in diversity and inclusion administration
  • At least 10 years of progressive strategic inclusion programming and initiatives experience (e.g. leadership and supervision, development, execution and assessment of strategic programs)
