Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics and the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. Teaching will include didactic and supervised practice courses. Excellent public speaking skills and a strong desire to stay current with subject matter is essential. As part of supervised practice, the faculty member is responsible for scheduling supervised practice experiences, assigning students, maintaining relationships with preceptors and sites, building and maintaining connections with community organizations, monitoring student progress and travel to supervised practice sites within and outside of Columbia. The faculty member will participate in advising, committee work, faculty meetings and other individual and team activities as needed within the program and department.
Qualifications: Required: Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with CDR, a minimum of a master's degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field, and a minimum of three years applied work experience post RD/RDN credentialing in the field of dietetics. Flexibility and adaptability are necessary.
Preferred: Demonstrated competence in teaching in higher education and experience with a Coordinated Program in Dietetics. Active leadership and participation in dietetics or related professional organizations. Preference is given to candidates who have substantial managerial experience in a healthcare setting and clinical RD/RDN experience.
