PhD or MD degree (equivalent) in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience on Bruker or Siemens scanners.Grant writing experience.
Previously written routine reports and prepare documents for publication. Understand documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and various manuals. Prior supervision experience.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Radiology. The incumbent will perform a variety of research and laboratory experiments in the area of neurological disorders in humans or rats using MRI, behavioral and histological techniques. The incumbent is expected to be self-motivated, goal driven, open to new challenges, and independent in executing projects and in daily tasks. Successful incumbent will have the ability to work under pressure and to demonstrate good judgement in making quick decisions. He/She should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact with both internal and external to the organization (i.e. physicians, investigators, vendors, faculties etc…).

  • Design and carry out MRI studies, analyze MRI data, compile data and results to write up papers for publications. Studies to involve measurements of structure, blood flow, and function of the brain and the eye.
  • Develop analysis methods based on Mathlab and other platforms, and use existing software to analyze structural and functional MRI data.
  • Operate Bruker or Siemens scanners.
  • Work with human and animal participants.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and performs a wide variety of research experiments involving MRI. Develop new MRI hardware and RF detectors, and MRI software.
  • Evaluate and interpret research data to provide needed information to investigators.
  • Assist in grant writing, and to revise IRB and IACUC documents as needed.
