What's just as notable are the breakthroughs resulting from work done through UNT's Institutes of Research Excellence, where collaboration is driving innovation. This kind of collaboration researchers working together across disciplines, with other universities and industry partners is the key to making new discoveries and creating solutions that will improve our world and sustain the future.

ORI is strengthening the research enterprise and culture by investing in people, programs and spaces. These investments foster an environment for innovative research, scholarship and creativity that help faculty to make important advances in health, agriculture, energy use and more.

This year alone, UNT researchers made game-changing discoveries in the fight against breast cancer and in materials design.
