Research Associate-Fixed Term
We are looking for a qualified candidate in the area of plant molecular cytogenetics. The candidate is expected to develop new fluorescence in situ hybridization techniques using customized oligonucleotides and use these techniques for genome and chromosomal mapping in several different plant species.
This position will start on August 1, 2018, and is initially for one year with a possibility of an extension based on the availability of funding and performance.Required Degree
Doctorate -Genetics, Botany or Plant BiologyMinimum Requirements
A Ph.D. in Genetics, Botany or Plant Biology with experience and first-author publication(s) in plant molecular cytogenetics. An ideal candidate will have experience with research techniques including plant chromosome preparation, plant tissue culture, and basic FISH techniques.Desired Qualifications
Experience on growing and managing various different plant species, including asexually propagated vegetables, grasses and woody plants.Required Application Materials
