The Florida Center for Reading Research | Located in Innovation Park at 2010 Levy Avenue
Recruitment of targeted sites that serve children aged 18-25 months old via face to face and phone meetings. Administration of individual language and cognitive development assessments, which include standardized assessments and computer based assessments for Preschoolers.
Attend project training and successfully pass assessment-related evaluations is required. Coordination with project staff, site personnel, and parents is required.
A high school diploma and 2 or more years of experience working with children, this can include classroom teaching, tutoring, or other related experience.
A valid driver's license that is not under suspension and regular access to an insured, reliable vehicle in order to travel to and from centers.
Applicants must be able to follow directions and pay attention to details, work independently, and also work as a contributing team member. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
Strong organizational skills along with solid decision making skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work in a timely manner.
Must have reliable means of communicating through email.
Teaching experience in early childhood and/or elementary educational setting.
Experience in administering assessments to children.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Special Education, or other related field.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Employees will be traveling to sites within the following the following counties: Orange, Osceola, Polk, Lake, Seminole, and Brevard.
Anticipated Salary Range
Hourly rate is dependent upon education and experience and will start at $11.00/hour.
This is an OPS/temporary Job.
Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
Hours will vary from week to week and day to day. Applicant must have availability between the hours of 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There will not be continuous testing taking place during these hours; these are the available hours that we will be able to go into the local site for recruiting and eventual assessment of students. Scheduling will solely be dependent upon the available times received from parents and sites. This is a part-time position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
