Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Graduate Enrollment, the Assistant Director is responsible for supporting enrollment efforts, generating applicant leads, and serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students.

Essential Functions

Primary duties for the Assistant Director include:

  • Recruiting, advising, and corresponding with master's and PhD applicants
  • Traveling, both domestically and abroad, to represent the School at fairs, conferences, and on-site visits
  • Maintaining up-to-date, enrollment-related content on Korbel's website
  • Serving as project manager for marketing endeavors in the Office of Graduate Enrollment, such as the creation of viewbooks, online and print advertisements, and other marketing initiatives
  • Organizing a team of volunteers to serve as Student Ambassadors

In addition to recruitment and project management responsibilities, the Assistant Director will support the Associate Director with event planning and the coordination of on-campus enrollment activities. The Assistant Director will also track correspondence with prospective students, advise the Director and Associate Director on applicants to the School, and identify third-party entities for potential articulation and/or cost-sharing agreements that may increase graduate enrollment at Korbel.

In conjunction with colleagues in the Office of Graduate Enrollment, the Assistant Director will ensure that all applicants receive the utmost care and attention as befitting an elite institution of international studies. To this end, the Assistant Director will work to maintain the holistic, student-centered approach to strategic enrollment management as practiced at Korbel.

This position may supervise student workers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of study and experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in admissions, student affairs, or other area of higher education or non-profits
  • Familiarity with the field of international affairs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or graduate course work
  • Familiarity with degree programs offered at Korbel
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (i.e. Slate), including functional experience as a front-end user
  • Experience with content writing for marketing initiatives
  • Knowledge of a second language
  • Experience working in, or with, culturally and racially diverse environments

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
