Essential Job Duties: The candidate's research projects will focus on transboundary and human infectious disease, where spatial and temporal dimensions will be applied to health surveillance. The development of epidemiological tools to investigate the occurrence and spread, providing science-based support for decision-makers with regard to prevention and control are expected. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with veterinary epidemiologists, public health researchers. Conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PI, students, and trainees on data analysis, and other miscellaneous problems related to epidemiology and/or data analytics.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: The postdoctoral associate will have Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Medicine or in a relevant quantitative discipline (DVM, ecology, epidemiology, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, statistics and related fields). Proficiency in programming with R or similar open-source platform. Strong oral and writing skills are necessary. Desired qualifications include good communication and experience and interested in developing proposals. Previous experience with spatial and spatio-temporal analysis or biogeographic approaches including niche modeling or machine learning algorithms. Experience developing and implementing spatial and spatio-temporal model is desirable. Applicants must have the ability to work independently and in collaboration.
