Advertised Job Summary: The South Carolina Rural Health Research Center (SCRHRC) is soliciting applications for a grant-funded Postdoctoral Fellow. Under the guidance of the Center Deputy Director, Jan M. Eberth, the fellow will be responsible for the implementation of center-funded epidemiologic and health services research projects focused on cancer prevention and control, medical geography, and population health disparities. Successful applicants will have strong statistical and data management skills, and experience working with both individual and area-level data. Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of manuscript and grant writing history. Responsibilities will vary and may include data collection and analysis of health provider and systems data; secondary data analysis of patient-level claims data and area-level databases; federal project reporting; preparation of research and policy briefs; and manuscript and grant writing. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): -Doctoral Degree in Public Health or closely related field by date of employment -Experience and technical proficiency using statistical and/or geographic information systems software (e.g., STATA, SAS, ArcGIS) -Experience or distinct interest in rural health and minority health disparities -Available for state and national travel
