The Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year lectureship in Ancient History beginning August 2018. Ph.D. in History is required. Candidates must have experience teaching in a university setting. The successful candidate will teach pre-1500 World History surveys as well as upper-division courses in Greek and Roman History.
Ph. D. in ancient history/classical studies is required. Experience teaching undergraduates required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in the methodologies and strategies in teaching Greek and Roman history and in classrooms in general that involve student motivation and evaluation techniques.
- Ability to teach Greek and Roman history courses; ability to teach undergraduates.
- Ability to teach world history surveys and upper-division courses in Ancient Greece and Rome.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently.
Ph. D. in history or classical studies with a focus on Ancient Greece and Rome.
Work is normally performed in a typical classroom/office work environment.
