Posting Summary:
The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures seeks applications to fill a non-tenure track one-year Visiting Professor/Assistant Professor, General Faculty position during the 2018-2019 academic year. Candidates who currently have a permanent appointment at another institution will hold the visiting rank commensurate with rank at their home institution. Candidates who do not have a permanent appointment at another institution will be eligible for the rank of Assistant Professor, General Faculty. Field open; desirable specializations include: literature and technology/science, media, digital humanities, and/or literature and knowledge, literature and economics, race and migration, critical theory. The successful candidate will teach two courses in the fall and two courses in the spring, with the balance of duties (34%) being comprised of research on the faculty member's own project.

The position is full-time salary with full-time benefits. The anticipated start date is August 25, 2018.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. at the time of application or be on track to receive a PhD in the relevant field by June 2018. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. Review of applications will begin on May 7, 2018, and the position will remain open until filled.
