Professional Research Asst
The University of Colorado's Center for Health and Addiction: Neuroscience, Genes and Environment (CUChange) has an available Professional Research Assistant and Phlebotomist position.
We are a motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research exploring factors linked with health and risk behavior in regard to exercise, Cannabis use, and alcohol consumption. We seek a full-time research assistant to aid in the collection and processing of biological samples, data quality control and management, and human subjects screening and research visit coordination. This position is well suited for a recent graduate pursuing a career or planning an advanced degree in psychology, neuroscience, translational human subjects research, or other biomedical research.
Expected responsibilities: Assisting with study participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling, leading study visits including informed consent, administering urine and breathalyzer tests, performing blood draw (if phlebotomist), conducting self-report tasks with study participants, and data management and quality control. Capable of working effectively and respectfully with participants who have diagnosed substance use disorders and a variety of backgrounds, lifestyles, and personalities.

Required qualifications include the following:
-Bachelor's degree, in psychology, neuroscience, life sciences, or other related field
-Experience conducting human subjects research appointments and eligibility screenings
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Ability to work collaboratively with study staff, postdoctoral researchers, undergraduates, principle investigators, and other laboratories
Preferred qualifications include the following:
-Phlebotomy certification or equivalent
-Experience handling biohazardous materials such as human blood, stool, and saliva samples
-REDCap project design and management
-Literacy in R/RStudio, SPSS, Qualtrics
-Wet lab experience (Extraction of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from whole blood, qPCR, real time PCR, sandwich and bead-based ELISA, Flow Cytometry)
