Position Summary: This position reports to the Manager of the Enterprise Reporting & Departmental Systems team in support of developing and maintaining the institutional data warehouse. A successful candidate for this position will be able to use prescribed tools to move data from the source transaction systems into dimensional models in the data warehouse, design ETL processes to support design and methodologies, present complex data structures in easy to use data models, and translate user requirements into consumable data. This position will work with database administration to optimize performance of queries and processes and aid application programmers in best practices for designing data queries for reporting. The candidate will work with nightly job flows to optimize operations and trim length of overnight ETL processes. These duties will be performed in a responsible, security-aware fashion, maintaining appropriate levels of data privacy, and will follow all ITS Enterprise Applications quality assurance processes and complete all necessary documentation.

Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited - institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; or - Bachelor's degree with some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in business applications consulting or development; or - Associate's degree in computer programming and three years of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Journey level requires an additional one year of experience. - Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience. - Bachelor's degree preferred
Qualification and Experience: REQUIRED: - Ability to develop dimensional data models - Deep SQL programming skills, able to write complex SQL - Ability to translate knowledge across a variety of tools - Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team - Strong written and oral communication skills PREFERRED: - 5 years of experience developing ETL in higher education data warehouse environments - Experience working with PeopleSoft data structures - Experience working with SAS DI Studio - Experience working in Oracle 12c
