Postdoctoral Scholar for the Digital Learning Lab
Open April 13th, 2018 through May 13th, 2018
One full-time postdoctoral scholar is needed at the University of California, Irvine to support research on language, literacy, and technology. Research will include designing measures; collection of data; analysis of data; writing of reports, articles, and presentations; preparation of grant proposals; managing relations and communications with school districts; supervising undergraduate and graduate student researchers; and overseeing the submission and updating of human subjects protocols.
Position will begin July 1, 2018 and continue for one year, with renewal possible pending availability of funding.
Requirements: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Education in hand or expected by July 1, 2018; prior research experience on visual-syntactic text formatting; prior research experience analyzing the features of digital text; knowledge of and experience of measures for examining writing motivation; and experience with multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling. Demonstrated successful experience in working with schools or districts with large numbers of English language learners is also required.
