The Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness is Oklahoma's early childhood coordinating organization, located in Midtown, Oklahoma City.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistency for the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness' (OPSR) identity and graphic standards. Develops and coordinates briefing materials, presentations, and speeches for OPSR. Organizes, designs, and edits OPSR publications, including the Annual Report. Monitors, edits, and updates the content and design of the OPSR website and social networking sites. Writes and distributes news releases, media advisories, opinion-editorial articles, and letters to the editors to statewide media in a timely manner. Coordinates press conferences and other media events. Tracks and archives media releases and clips. Coordinates local and state requests for information and materials. Creates and manages communications calendar. Reports to the Executive Director. Perform other duties as assigned.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions
OPSR is seeking a creative, motivated individual to lead communication and outreach efforts across the state. Develop, implement and oversee services and programs related to communication and engagement with outside stakeholders and agencies. Plan and directs communication assignments involving advertising and public relations for the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness. Serve as a communication liaison to outside agencies, community members, and businesses. Create and distribute marketing materials for external partners and the public.
Manage projects related to media relations, brand building and stakeholder engagement. Coordinate special events and implement community outreach programs. Under direction of the Executive Director, create and manage release dates for OPSR's social media; update and maintain website content and send out press releases for events and newsworthy activities.
Requires a university degree in field plus 3+ years of relevant experience in the chosen field or 7+ years of equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.
Seven+ years of professional experience in public relations, marketing, special events, or fund raising, preferably in non-profit or comparable volunteer experience. Experience in the operation of computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, or Access.
Demonstrated expertise in public relations with results. Extensive successful writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communications media including, but not limited to, news releases, publications, and speech writing. Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communications skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
