General Summary

Develop the web presence of courses and programs through the use of custom-built styles, templates, and multimedia for the online learning management system and associated technologies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide instructional design consulting to instructors and program coordinators to support standardized deployment of web resources for high-quality online courses and programs.

Provide learning and object development and logistical support to instructors and academic departments in the development of online distance education courses, hybrid/blended courses and web enhanced courses.

Keep abreast of new technologies for distance education including integrations with the learning management system.

Maintain departmental electronic resources including websites, intranet sites, and multimedia assets.

Perform related duties as assigned.Qualifications

Demonstrated competence in managing content management systems and web site development as typically acquired by the completion of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Arts, Business Information Systems or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least two years experience in web-based course development and web-based course management is required.

Knowledge of multimedia learning object development and integration within learning management systems is required.

Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Flash, and audio/video production for online distribution is required.

Well-developed writing skills, strong interpersonal skill, and the ability to construct/maintain portal or on-line submission of materials.

Demonstrated computer skills including, but not limited to, web and graphic design, word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentation software, database creation/management, and instructional use of the internet.
