SUNY Empire State College seeks an experienced Human Resources Associate (State Title: Personnel Associate) in the Office of Human Resources located in Saratoga Springs, NY. The individual will be responsible for working closely with the HR team and college wide staff throughout all of our locations to assist with employee relations to include problem solving, coaching, and providing professional development in HR topics.
Additionally, the associate will identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with managers. The successful candidate will deploy a wide variety of training methods, and conduct effective induction and orientation sessions. The incumbent will monitor and evaluate training programs to include effectiveness, success, ROI, and will periodically report on them.
The Human Resources Associate will perform additional employee services functions to include providing benefits information, assisting with the staffing process, performance management, and will work closely with a team of HR staff and serve as a resource to college employees regarding issues related to compliance with SUNY policies, Civil Service Rules and Regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively, have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, attention to detail, the ability to set priorities and communicate effectively in written/oral formats to all college faculty and staff.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- 5 years of related human resource professional experience, minimum of three years of training in all areas of human resource professional development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and web based systems
- Demonstrated success in coaching supervisors and resolving day to day concerns
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience within SUNY in a human resources role; knowledge and experience in contract language and administration
- Higher Education experience
- May involve occasional travel

Rank/Salary: $58,000+, dependent on qualifications.
