This is a full-time, benefits eligible, at will position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Services function. This involves supervision of the Accounting Services staff and review of their reconciliations and other work. This position is also responsible to ensure that all campus, CSU, state, and federal legal and budgetary reporting requirements are met and provides reports to management when as needed. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all transactions for the sub-ledgers are posted successfully to the General Ledger.
In addition, this position ensures that support is provided to campus departments regarding accounting transactions and journal entries.
This position manages 7 employees, including one lead and several student assistants.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting annual salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $95,000. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,726 - $12,767 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, which may include education and/or experience.
- Five plus years of accounting or related work experience.
- Experience providing lead direction or supervision of others.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
- Experience working in the accounting or auditing functions.
- Active CPA License preferred.
- Experience working with the Oracle eBusiness Suite financials.
- Experience working in a large higher education and/or public sector organization.
