Primary responsibilities will include teaching sections of Communication in support of USG core curriculum, GSC AA Communication degree, and Professional Communication Track of English BA program; engaging in appropriate institutional/community service; and developing an active program of professional development.

The Division of Humanities is an interdisciplinary division sponsoring courses in Art, Communication, English, Foreign Languages, Music, Philosophy, and Theater. There are 23 tenure-track faculty members in the Division, 19 of whom have an earned doctorate.
Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, Gordon was named a state college in 2006 and asked to develop selected four year programs to address critical state needs. In May, 2009 the College graduated its first baccalaureate class of 27 early childhood education majors; the college launched its baccalaureate English program in 2011. GSC now offers twelve distinct baccalaureate programs.
The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia, a lovely town located an hour south of Atlanta, Georgia. Students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center and an international airport.

Ph.D. in Communication (ABD with impending dissertation defense considered)
Previous experience in college-level teaching
