Summary of the Position

The Club Women's Hockey Coach is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and management of all aspects of the team in conjunction with the team captains and organization's executive board. The coach is required to schedule and be present during all practices and games, ensuring all safety standards and guidelines as defined by the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) governing rules.

Essential Functions

Make appropriate decisions regarding the safety and playing ability of team members. Schedule practices and games in accordance with the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) governing rules.

Attend all practices and games.
Represent Bentley University in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the University.

Ensure all team members are in good academic standing, have completed and filed the appropriate paperwork with Student Programs & Engagement (Anti-Hazing, travel forms, Liability and Indemnity waivers).

Be available to team members to counsel on matters relating to Men's Ice Hockey, and team morale.

Meet as needed with Student Programs & Engagement and Arena staff.

Minimum Qualifications(Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor Degree
3-5 years experience playing and/or coaching hockey, preferably in a University club sport program.

Experience working with an undergraduate population or traditional university aged students.

First Aid and CPR training is required.
Safespot certified through USA Hockey.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and familiarity with the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) governing rules.

Experience with Club Sport team building.

Physical Demands

Coach is present at all practices and games and must effectively demontrate and instruct techniques and skill to team members.
