Senior Instructional and Online Media Specialist

Summary of the Position
The primary objective of the Senior Instructional and Online Media Specialist (SIOMS) is to provide technical expertise in the design, installation and ongoing support of Campus Presentation Technology including, assisting in project plans, physical installation, and maintaining technology equipment in all university classrooms and conference rooms.
•The SIOMS needs to be well versed in supporting all presentation technology in Bentley's 70+ “smart” classrooms, array of high-tech “specialty labs”, and any facility utilizing presentation technology
•The SIOMS will be required to perform field service support and maintenance of all presentation technologies on campus, including equipment installed to support the functions overseen by Meeting and Conference Services (MCS)
•Identify and respond to any equipment failure and oversee repair, troubleshoot technology and faculty/student/staff usability issues in teaching and learning and conferencing environments
•Triage issues to provide prompt and effective responses
•Provide custom and targeted faculty, student and staff services, and oversee/perform unscheduled repair and maintenance of equipment
•Familiarity with classroom A/V control systems like AMX or Crestron is a must
•Maintains and troubleshoots classroom AV infrastructure including classroom control systems, projectors, sound systems and microphones
•Supports Bentley's digital signage system hardware
•The SIOMS reports directly to the Senior Manager of Online and Campus Presentation Technologies
•Work with the CPT team to develop training and documentations for the student staff
•The SIOMS combines solid analytical skills and experience with complementary technical skills in the areas of online and classroom presentation technologies
•Strong written and oral communication skills are critical
•S/he must strive to give the highest quality service possible to faculty, students and staff by demonstrating a track record for excellent client satisfaction as well as minimal downtime of the technology infrastructure
•Research, identify and recommend new technologies and trends in presentation technologies
•Work closely with other centers and departments across campus (The Conference Center (TCC), Registrar, Directors of Specialty Labs, Client Services) to upgrade and install instructional and presentation technology on campus
Minimum Qualifications(Education and Experience Requirements)
•The ideal candidate must have a BS/BA degree or equivalent education/certification in the A/V field
•3 or more years working in support of classroom technologies and in an environment where state-of-the-art presentation technology is used in classroom-type environments as well as in seminar and conference type settings
•The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in instructional and presentation technology, particularly on digital audio processors/mic systems and their applications/programming
•Familiar with network-enabled A/V systems
•Strong AV and computer related technical skills
•Dedication to remaining current on new technologies
•Strong communication skills
•Experience supporting faculty and staff in a high-pressure, quick resolution environment is preferred
•Experience supporting online education programs
•Experience with web conferencing tools Skype for Business, Zoom or GoToMeeting
A significant amount of time is spent out of the office testing and tuning equipment, supporting faculty, interacting with other members of the Bentley community as well as vendors, and resolving service calls. Time spent at a workstation/repair bench is spent testing and repairing equipment and contacting those with whom maintenance services must be coordinated. Fine motor skills are required to accomplish testing and repair. Speed and accuracy is often required while responding to service calls in the field. In contact with office is via cell phone. The ability to work with equipment in hard to reach areas is frequently required.
