Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology
The Program in Communicative Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Speech Language Pathology beginning August, 2018. The Department is seeking a scholar in the field of Speech Language Pathology with a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. Our program has a strong commitment to the academic and clinical preparation of undergraduate and graduate students in the communication sciences. Our department consists of a dynamic team of dedicated educators, scholars, and clinicians who together have created a new professional training program at the graduate level and an innovative undergraduate program grounded in the principles of liberal education. We are looking for a creative, flexible and collaborative individual who can teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students, engage in service to the department, college, and community, contribute to the clinical education program, and who is interested in developing opportunities for students to engage in high-impact practices such as undergraduate and graduate collaborative research, study abroad, and community-based learning. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, undergraduate education of women, a liberal arts education, and service to the department and the College is expected.
Ph.D. required. ABD considered if terminal degree to be completed within one year. Preferred qualifications: eligibility for CCC-SLP and Indiana state licensure. The areas of expertise are open, although we will give preference to those applicants who can enrich our existing curriculum. Experience with teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level is desirable, as is a background which includes provision of clinical services. An active or potential research program, which could foster student engagement, is highly valued. Starting date is August 13, 2018. Classes begin on August 20, 2018.
