Assistant Athletic Trainer Intern

Job description

Cornell College invites applications for a part-time, 9 month assistant athletic trainer intern. This position will assist the head athletic trainer in all aspects of the athletics training program as assigned, with primary responsibility for men's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's indoor track. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as assisting with the supervision of the sports medicine assistants, and the supervision and operation of the training room. This position will also assist with the supervision of athletic practices and athletic events as directed. Team travel may be required on occasion. This position is for the 2018-2019 academic year, starting mid-August 2018, and is not a benefits-eligible position.

Must be BOC certified and have Iowa Athletic Training licensure by August 1, 2018. Must have experience in athletic training in a variety of sports, demonstrated an ability to effectively relate with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and be CPR/First Aid certified. Candidates who are eligible to sit for the BOC exam and/or need the experience to finish their degree are encouraged to apply.
