Job Description
The Education-Dean's Office Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Event Support Coordinator to join our team.

This position assists in the planning and execution of all aspects of assigned meetings, conferences and other events. This role is responsible for working with relevant stakeholders to accomplish the event objectives. Executes plans, handles event particulars, supervises team, assists in evaluation and managing of events, event set up/breakdown.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Coordinates college events which may include: scheduling and inspecting rooms/venues, transportation, solicit bids from vendors and providing information.
* Plans and executes all college-wide events and selected events for the four departments.
* Coordinate evaluation and management of events and programs.
* Coordinate logistics as needed.
* Coordinates communication and marketing of events as needed, including media, print, and on line promotion.
* Handles billing and payments for events.
* Recommends new procedures for improvement of support activities.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and two years of professional experience related to event planning;or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated event management skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
* Ability to work on call during events including nights and weekends.
* Ability to work effectively in a high stress people-oriented environment.
* Demonstrated skill in computer use and related software programs.
