Job description

Duties: The Mackey Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time research assistant beginning in July 2018. The lab will conduct behavioral and neuroimaging studies of brain plasticity and development, with the translational goal of improving academic outcomes for children struggling in school. This position will involve designing experiments, collecting behavioral data in schools and in lab, operating the MRI scanner, and assisting with data analysis and publication. The person who fills this position will be expected to assist with setting up data analysis pipelines and provide general technical support for the lab.

Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, education, or related field and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
*Knowledge of programming (python, bash), statistical software (e.g., R, Stata), neuroimaging analysis software (e.g., Nipype, FSL) and/or psychological experiment software (e.g., E-Prime, psychtoolbox, etc.)
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Undergraduate research experience in psychology, neuroscience, or related field. Experience working with children in a research setting preferred.
