Position Summary: The Clinic Assistant provides direct supportive patient care to eligible patients in Women's Clinic under the direction of nurses and clinicians. The Clinic Assistant works closely with and collaborates with nurses, clinicians, patients, and families to support the clinic team. The Clinic Assistant reports to and is directly supervised by the Women's Clinic Manager.
Responsibilities: Provides care to patients and directly assists clinicians in treating patients. Provides culturally sensitive age specific care and maintains confidentiality of patient's information. The Clinic Assistant will greet patients, document their chief complaint, take a brief history, appropriate vital signs, current medications and allergies. Recognizes abnormal findings and urgent problems to expedite patient care. Assists clinician with examination and treatment. Provides appropriate patient education as needed. Ensures patient and staff's safety at all times.
Qualifications: Graduation from a standard high school supplemented by the successful completion of an appropriate training program prescribed by University Health Services; and experience in the care and treatment of patients; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. CPR certified
