Position Summary: We are seeking a Research Associate (RA) for the Family Planning Country Action Process Evaluation (FP CAPE), funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to evaluate their portfolio of family planning investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Nigeria. The position is based at the Carolina Population Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the RA will work closely with FP CAPE staff both in Chapel Hill and in the DRC and Nigeria. The Research Associate will participate in the design of evaluation materials, such as questionnaires, survey protocols, and assist with secondary data compilation, analysis, as well as tailoring findings to key audiences. S/he will assist with the preparation and design of project stakeholder meetings in the DRC. Nigeria and the USA; and assist with documenting project progress and results through project tracking systems. S/he will also provide administrative and program management support, including communicating and monitoring of subcontracts with partners in the USA, DRC and Nigeria.

Education Requirements: Master's degree in economics, sociology, psychology, public health, information management, or related discipline

Qualification and Experience: Ability to show initiative, good judgment, resourcefulness, and work well with others in a multicultural environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage a high volume work flow under tight deadlines. Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of monitoring and evaluation and FP. At least 2 years of experience with policy analysis and/or statistical analysis of data for research programs preferred. Demonstrated software skills required; proficiency with STATA and Excel preferred. Administrative and program management support experience preferred. Excellent oral and written
