SR. ACCOUNTANT OF INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS
Duties: This position focuses on accounting and analysis related to Wharton's international operations with a focus on China. You will maintain the books of record of University of Pennsylvania International (UPI), a foundation that supports international activity. The Sr. Accountant of International Operations will reconcile the related accounts and record the investment by Penn. The incumbent will also have primary responsibility for managing the daily financial operations of the Penn Wharton China Center (PWCC), which is a $7M business located in Beijing. This involves interacting with local personnel as well as accounting and tax partners in country. You will serve as part of the Treasury function by dispersing funds in country. The position will review the monthly reporting package, record subsidiary information for Penn, and consolidate three entities that utilize three different reporting formats - Responsibility Center Management (RCM), US GAAP, and International GAAP.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated strong financial, analytical and modeling skills. Demonstrated decision making and problem solving ability as well as excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service oriented. Capability to independently manage multiple projects from design through final presentation. Ability to work under demanding timelines. Ability to see the big picture while effectively analyzing details. CPA and Mandarin speaking candidates preferred.
