Job description

This position will review all newly admitted patients for appropriation of hospitalization; proper documentation; appropriate order entry and designation of level of care with ongoing consultation with MD's when necessary as well as consult and collaborate with nursing staff and weekend social worker for home health and DME needs of patients being discharged. The position will be a liaison between insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, patients, and medical staff and ensure payment for hospital services provided for patients.

Please be aware that this position is a weekend shift.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: lifting, pushing, and/or pulling and
walking with objects up to 10lbs; sitting at a computer workstation for extended
periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); and working in confined


Weekend, 12 hour day shift with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts during the week per departmental needs.


The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills and be
able to accurately complete documentation with high attention to detail. Should have
the ability to provide superior customer service, work with a teamwork mindset; and
respect for confidentiality and diversity.

Preferred Education/Experience

ADN with minimum 5 years of bedside nursing experience and knowledge or utilization review activities preferred.
