Position Status:

Basic Function:
Provide metallographic services in optical and electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction to support the research projects in the Center for Heat Treating Excellence.
Software development for the simulation of surface engineering processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze metallographic results and data, and write reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content.
    Teach, train, and supervise student in the research group.
    Present ongoing work and findings at the national and international conferences.
    Participate and assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and conference proceedings.
    Devise and help conceive new research proposals and participate/assist in applying for funding and grants.

    Position Requirements

  • PhD. from an accredited institution in the area of materials science and engineering.
