Western Instructor / Varsity Coach
Albion College invites application for the Western Instructor/Varsity Coach position. This position is responsible for developing and overseeing the western riding program including teaching lessons, coaching an intercollegiate team, maintaining an appropriate size herd of western horses, and the training and conditioning of horses. In addition, this position will work closely with the Admission Office in recruiting prospective students. This position will assist in the daily operations of the stables and events hosted at the Held Equestrian Center. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

FLSA Classification: Salaried / Exempt / Instructional
Duration: 12 months per year
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Significant experience in AQHA, APHA, ApHC, NRHA, IHSA, YEDA, IEA or AHA competitions required
- Significant experience in multi-discipline riding as well as horse care required
- Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks; position may require obtaining a CDL
