The compliance coordinator is a part-time position that supports the work of the distance learning department through research and investigation of compliance issues related to state authorization for distance learning courses and programs. State authorization requires a determination of physical presence triggers for each state where courses/programs are offered, as well as a determination of whether programs that lead to licensure or certification will do so in the state the student is receiving instruction.  

Training and Experience:

Bachelor's degree required. 

Ability to read, comprehend, and synthesize government regulatory documents. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Illustrative Examples of Work:

Facilitate the distribution of required notifications and regulations regarding state authorizations to students and college stakeholders. 

Participate in state authorization network meetings to remain current in regulations and requirements. 

Maintain the state authorization website for distance learning for current status for each state and program. 

Assist with the facilitation of obtaining authorization for distance learning operations in states where physical presence triggers additional requirements and/or those who are not affiliated with NC-SARA 

Gather and analyze data required for reporting to maintain institution's NC-SARA membership.
