Assistant Director, Prospect Research - 502029

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Prospect Research, the Assistant Director, Prospect Research provides research data and information to the Development team through the use of Raiser's Edge. This position gathers, organizes, and reports information with the Prospect Research team to further the Development team's fundraising activities. This position is responsible for reporting and managing information on prospects, in addition to acquiring new information to support Prospect Research and Development overall.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and execute research requests on individuals in accordance with Prospect Research screenings and other prospect research projects.
  • Rate prospective donors by analyzing research data and wealth indicators to determine financial capacity.
  • Utilize the Raisers Edge to analyze and report accumulated information to provide focused, strategic information for gift officers.
  • Identify and rate prospective donors by analyzing research data and wealth indicators to determine financial capacity and interests.
  • Participate in prospect meetings and departmental meetings to share information on donors.
  • Code and perform updates in the Raisers Edge to ensure prospect information is accurate and actionable.
  • Provide current and historical perspective and data on campaigns, funds, donors and gifts to the Advancement Office.
  • Organize and manage historical Advancement documents so they are easily accessible to Advancement staff as needed. Ensure any non-Advancement documents are distributed to the department of record.
  • Special Projects as needed by Advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the Raisers Edge for updating records and running reports
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various constituencies
  • Knowledge of fund-raising principles and best practices in educational setting
  • Knowledge of online databases and donor database management, as related to entering data into a relational database
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially WORD and EXCEL
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks
  • Proficiency with RE and MS Office products
  • Ability to reports and summarize in clear and concise manner
  • Organizational skills and initiative, attention to detail, accuracy and excellent judgment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BA or BS preferred.
  • Prospect Research or Fund Development experience, preferably in an academic setting

WORK HOURS:

  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week

SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 6
