The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Recruiting Assistant to support the recruiting operations of the Football program.

The primary responsibilities of the Recruiting Assistant position include, but are not limited to: Evaluating film on potential prospects; exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies; providing administrative support to the Football Recruiting office; assisting the Football Recruiting Administrator and coaches; providing support to the recruiting office during home game functions; assisting with event planning; assisting with data entry in player and recruiting databases; assisting with post-season planning and logistics.

This is a restricted term position with an anticipated end date 1 year from the start date. Continuation in the position will be evaluated annually.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to convey information, and/or plans clearly in written format. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in interactions with all UVA and Athletics Department staff, outside community including fans, visitors, the press, prospective students, and other constituencies. Ability to present a professional demeanor while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service. Excellent communication skills and the ability to write/edit professional quality documents and correspondence. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to multi-task with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects with seamless execution. Knowledge of administrative procedures and general business practices. Basic knowledge of the game of Football. Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven work environment. Ability to handle a high level of confidentiality to maintain the integrity of the office. Knowledge of data entry, querying, and reporting in a database. Ability to work with ambiguity and changing tasks. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports on a variety of topics. Ability to be flexible in terms of work schedule to accommodate game day and sport program needs.
