The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to support the Men's Basketball program.

The Administrative Assistant, Men's Basketball position exists to provide administrative support for the Men's Basketball program in an effort to achieve operational excellence. Responsibilities include: exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies both in person and by telephone; preparing correspondence; maintaining student-athlete, AAU, high school, and alumni databases; managing the office supply inventory; making travel arrangements; processing travel vouchers; maintaining efficient records of all travel related expenses in compliance with University Purchasing policies; preparing and processing other essential documents; designing new office stationary and creative mailers; photocopying; researching mailers for prospective student-athletes; processing and handling mail; serving as the first point of contact in the Men's Basketball Office; and performing other duties as assigned.

This is a restricted term position with an anticipated end date 1 year from the start date. Continuation in the position will be evaluated annually.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to interact with various levels of internal and external constituencies with an understanding of protocol, political environment and implications, and confidentiality. Flexibility to work independently within a highly visible and pressurized environment. Ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills in interactions with all UVA personnel and outside community including fans, visitors, the press, prospective students, parents, and other constituencies. Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Ability to utilize office equipment, facilities and materials needed to complete assigned tasks. Ability to prepare spreadsheets and statistical reports.
