Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

To assist the electrician in maintaining/installing electrical equipment/devices. Demonstrate compliance with regard to safety practices and requirements as outlined by the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine, and OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

High school diploma and 6 years directly related trade experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer electrical education from accredited school.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must be capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and read specifications. Ability to work independently and perform detailed work. Good reasoning skills needed. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Must have a valid South Carolina drivers license. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
