Associate Scientist II - Analytics

Role Summary:

The Associate Scientist II will support the development, qualification and execution of analytical methods to enable optimization of processes, formulations and characterization of vaccine products. This position will be involved in pharmaceutical and analytical development for GMP production of vaccine products and therapeutics.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust analytical assays for the characterization of nucleic acid and protein vaccine clinical candidates using a range of potential analytical platforms.
  • Work closely with the upstream and downstream processing teams to provide key analytical information regarding the quality of the potential vaccine product.
  • Compose and execute standard test methods, assay qualification protocols and reports
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation and be able to draw conclusions regarding progress and results of work, utilizing the data in appropriate decision making.
  • Assist in the development of new methodologies in biophysical and antigenicity testing of vaccine products to advance analytical capabilities
  • Operate in a GMP regulated environment, follow departmental SOPs and Regulatory guidelines.


Education and Experience:
  • BS/MS with 4+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on assay development and broad experience with a variety of analytical platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience with ligand binding assays (ELISA, BLI and SPR) and mammalian cell culture is a plus
  • Knowledge of GMP compliance
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in a broad range of biochemical/biophysical techniques (ELISA, SPR, BLI, SDS-PAGE, CE, DLS, UPLC).
  • Demonstrated ability in solving moderately complex analytical problems
  • Proven ability to generate high quality data and documentation within challenging time lines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and collaboration skills
  • Ability to execute and document analytical methods in a regulatory compliant manner is essential
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell based assays is a plus

Education

Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or related field. An advanced degree (Master's, PhD) is preferred.

Experience
